Valentine's Day Party and Pirate Day

We truly have the BEST parents.  Thank you to our precious parents for planning the best Valentine's Day party.  The students enjoyed the snacks, games, and most of all.....receiving hand written cards from their peers.  What JOY to see the smiles and hugs for each other.  We are reminded that we love because He first loved us.

We have been studying the "ar" sound this week.  Students enjoyed 'arghh' and pirate day to reinforce our skills.  Please click here to view pictures:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/QV8XCqLVDBTCYsbu8

Moon Phases and Mrs. Etheredge's Birthday

We had a marvelous time studying space.  The students have been learning about the Sun, stars, planets, and moon.  We enjoyed an edible snack while learning about the moon phases.

The students helped celebrate Mrs. Etheredge's birthday in a big way.  The students brought beautiful cards, flowers, and cookie cake to celebrate.  What a spledid day!  Thank you to the many sweet parents and students who helped make my day extra special.  Please click here to view pictures:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/jfC5rGUjUM6S5gky6

101st Day of School

First graders enjoyed the 101st day of school.  The students dressed up as dalmation dogs and wore unique 101 day hats they created to mark this special day.  The students participated in counting, writing, art, and reading stations.  They made 101 edible necklaces to reinforce their number sense and make concrete connections to numbers.  Check out some of the Dalmation inspired activities that had the students wagging their tails in excitement for the 101st day of school.  Please click here to view pictures:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ppMxWVvbmoe9JXx36

Christmas 2022

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a great month in December preparing our hearts for Christmas.  The students made advent chains, painted snowmen, participated in Christmas literacy and math rotations, read Christmas books, and had a book study on the book Olive, the Other Reindeer.  The month was filled with learning, crafts, writing, and Bible.  The students learned scripture and studied the story of the birth of our Lord and Savior.  It is such a blessing to teach the story of Jesus' birth.

The students looked forward to Christmas on the Boulevard and the performance at First United Methodist Church where they were sharing the Christmas story through singing.  We've had the opportunity to teach students about the wonderful Christmas holiday through multiple modes of learning.  Thank you to our parent volunteer drivers and party voluteers that made these events extra special.

We even had special visitors this month.  Bae Bae, Mrs. Etheredge's maltipoo, and Nancy's seven puppies were special guests during the month of December. We got to share a little extra pet LOVE during the season.
