What a fabulous week! Students are really settling in to first grade. They are such diligent workers and a precious group of students. Thank you for sharing them with me.
We ended our short "e" week with a bang. The students made a "Nest Full of Eggs" today. It was a hit. Along with our edible dominoes last week as we were studying addition, the students are beginning to learn that we really like to eat in first grade!
I promised the students that I would send the "Nest of Eggs" recipe. Here it is: 1 bag of milk chocolate morsels, 1 bag of chow mein noodles, Hawaiian Punch jelly beans; melt chocolate morsels and add chow mein noodles; use jelly beans for eggs!! They loved it!
We had a fabulous start to our day on Thursday with chapel lead by Mrs. Shelley. She challenged each of us to resolve conflict in a Biblical manner. The praise and worship was uplifting and a great beginning for our day. I was very proud of the students' respectful behavior during chapel.
Please mark your calendars that Wednesday, August 31 will be individual school pictures. Also, Monday, September 5 is a school holiday...no school...Happy Labor Day!
